First Insight, Inc. is seeking a Junior Software Engineer for its InsightSUITE team.

Position Requirements

• University degree in computer science, information systems, or another rigorous discipline is required.
• An advanced degree in one these fields is a plus.
• In depth knowledge of web app, microservice, and database design standards.
• Strong fundamentals in UIX, algorithm, and data structure design.
• Proficiency with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Java, and MySQL.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and service-service integration.
• Basic skills with technical documentation: interfaces, sequence diagrams, and commenting.
• Prefer some exposure to Angular, Material, Python, and MongoDB.

First Insight, Inc. is seeking a Junior Software Engineer for its InsightSUITE team. You will be part of an agile development team building enterprise web and mobile applications that enable global retailers and brand manufacturers make better product selection, pricing, and planning decisions. You will be involved in all areas of development and will be mentored by senior technologists to design and implement elegant, scalable code that meets our Definition of Done. We are looking for candidates interested in growing their technology skills and a desire to make a global impact in a fast-growing company.

Responsibilities

Work on a multi-national Agile team to implement user stories and successfully deploy new features to our application. This includes discussing code design, developing application code, writing unit tests, reviewing QA test cases, and resolving any bugs that arise.

• Participate in our Agile process, including Epic overviews, story elaboration sessions, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Fully engage in frontend design and application architecture discussions by effectively communicating technical ideas and critiques.
• Perform code reviews and periodic research spikes.
• Package and support deployment of application code.
