Jr. Security Engineer at Apprentice

As a Junior Security Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and integrity of our company's digital assets, infrastructure, and networks.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and vulnerability assessment tools.
• Understanding of security principles, risk assessment, and threat modeling.
• Basic knowledge of programming languages such as Bash, PowerShell, Python, JavaScript
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) are a plus.
• Prior experience or internships in a cybersecurity role is desirable but not mandatory.

About the role:

As a Junior Security Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and integrity of our company's digital assets, infrastructure, and networks. You will work closely with senior security engineers to implement and maintain security solutions, perform vulnerability assessments, and respond to security incidents. Responsibilities:

• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify weaknesses and potential threats.
• Assist with operational monitoring of security systems. Monitor security systems and analyze security logs to detect and respond to security incidents.
• Collaborate with the IT team to ensure proper configuration and security of network devices, servers, and applications.
• Assist in developing and implementing security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Stay updated with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.
• Contribute to incident response efforts and assist in post-incident analysis and remediation.
• Document security procedures, configurations, and incidents.
