Jr. QA Engineer at Everyday Health - Professional
We need one to Work on product/project teams developing test plans, test cases and automation scripts
Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of software design and engineering, a good eye for detail, and a natural gift for software troubleshooting
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, mathematics or related area
- 3+ years experience in software development life cycle and software testing experience. Agile/Scrum a plus.
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies and processes with the ability to analyze and elaborate on requirements
- Good understanding of SQL, HTML, CSS, Java, XML, HTTP protocol, browser debugging tools, and testing RESTful microservices with Postman.
- Experienced in using various bug tracking, source control and build release tools, like JIRA, GIT, Jenkins, etc.
- Test automation development experience using Selenium and Java or related coding language to create scripts for both functional and GUI. Cucumber experience is a plus.
- Self-starter with a willingness and ability to fully own functional areas under test with minimal supervision
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills
- Organized and process oriented, with ability to maintain excellent process/testing/build release documentation and reports.
- Ability to adapt and willingness to learn new technology or techniques.

Everyday Health Professional is hiring! We are looking for a Jr. QA Engineer who is passionate about software quality. The successful candidate will help the team guide quality activities at every stage of software development, and will partner with the development and product teams to deploy great quality features to our end users. You will work alongside other peers in QA and help design an effective and efficient strategy to improve the QA process.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and execute scripts
- Monitor and adhere to test plans
- Collaborate with development teams and reporting results to team leads
- Identify even the smallest flaw in software designs and be able to suggest simple yet effective fixes.
- Write and execute manual end-to-end (front end, back end, database, and integrated systems) tests for bugs and large features
- Work on product/project teams developing test plans, test cases and automation scripts
- Operate in an agile software development process focused on testing new features within an iteration and providing near immediate feedback to engineers through both manual testing and automation
- Write clear, concise and comprehensive test cases and bug reports
- Be a subject matter expert in applications
- Work with the development and product teams on any test failures and bugs found
- Collaborate with other QA team members, development and product teams
- Focus on best practices and methodologies to write tests
- Work proactively to improve the overall software testing process and environment
