The DevOps Engineer is responsible for provisioning, operating, and managing distributed application systems on the AWS platform.

Education & Essential Skills

• BS in computer sciences or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of two years of WAN/LAN, systems administration experience
• Working knowledge with current set of operating systems, applications, and equipment is required.
• Strong knowledge of Routers, Switches and Network Topology.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, IP Classes and Security.
• Strong knowledge of systems management skills and 3rd party tools.
• Strong knowledge in Automation/DevOps; scripting and tooling
• Certifications on Cisco, Microsoft, VMware, Amazon Web Services are a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization.

Experience

• Minimum of two years of Cloud/IaaS experience; AWS and Azure Preferred
• Minimum of two years of WAN/LAN, systems administration experience.
• Minimum of two years of Server Virtualization experience.
• Minimum of two years with Linux and Windows Server experience
• Minimum of two years administering Active Directory/LDAP
• Two years of prior experience.

Description

The DevOps Engineer is responsible for provisioning, operating, and managing distributed application systems on the AWS platform. The process includes optimization, monitoring, patching/maintenance, troubleshooting and supporting the end-to-end release process within our infrastructure and deployment pipeline. At least two years of experience and certifications in AWS Developer and Solutions Architect, Associate a plus. This role will be reporting directly to the Director of IT - Infrastructure.

Position Responsibilities

• Design cloud infrastructure that is secure, scalable, highly available and self-healing on AWS platform
• Provision, configure and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure defined as code, using tools like CloudFormation and terraform
• Proficient in different programming languages to debug and facilitate automation jobs using serverless technology in AWS.
• Work collaboratively with technical leads and soft engineers to define infrastructure and deployment requirements for successful application release changes
• Possess knowledge across AWS services within the Compute, Storage, Database, Management, Networking and Developing domains.
• Ensure configuration and compliance with configuration management tools
• Define and deploy monitoring, metrics, and logging systems on AWS
• Build and maintain operational tools for deployment, monitoring, and analysis of AWS infrastructure and systems
• Acquire knowledge on 3rd party tools like Grafana, Jenkins, Prometheus, Selenium to manage and monitor infrastructure
• Administer and troubleshoot Linux based systems, windows servers
• Troubleshoot problems across a wide array of services and functional areas
• Perform infrastructure vulnerability analysis and remediation strategy
• Responsible for patching cloud resources and meeting security measures to keep the infrastructure secure from any threats
• Have familiarity using database technology like MySQL, PostgreSQL and DynamoDB
• Must possess knowledge on container services in AWS and be able to design and manager clusters of micro services
• Knowledge for distrusted ledger technology and its use in application is a plus
• Incur skills in serverless technology to facilitate lambda application deployments and releases
• Be able to perform POC on new ideas developed by solutions architect and technical leads.
• Proficient in creating exceptional documentation and notes for knowledge sharing across the origination
