NexGen Technologies, Inc. is looking for a Junior Business Analyst to support Federal government IT applications.


Education/Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline
  • Minimum 1-year experience as a IT Business Analyst with training responsibilities

Technical Skills/Experience:

  • Experience in written and verbal technical communication
  • Knowledge of Agile software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies
  • Knowledge of software/system configuration, change and release management principles and concepts
  • Demonstrable experience with MS 365 including Outlook. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Experience in speaking in front of large audiences
  • Experience in conducting technical training and user support for software systems
  • Willingness to travel for client training/work, sometimes on short notice
Additional Desired Skills/Requirements
  • Knowledge of Design Thinking principles for elicitation of software requirements
  • Experience working within Agile teams (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.)
  • Experience with Federal government standards, policies, and guidelines
  • Familiarity with International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) Body of Knowledge
  • The successful candidate is required to pass background screening prior to employment
  • US citizenship or work-authorization is required.

Description

NexGen Technologies, Inc. is looking for a Junior Business Analyst to support Federal government IT applications. This individual will be required to work closely with members of the NexGen’s and client’s teams, including but not limited to subject matter experts, technical leads, and project managers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Support elicitation, capture, review and analysis of functional and non-functional IT systems requirements
  • Support development and implementation of approved software requirements
  • Support development of software tests
  • Test and validate software requirements
  • Develop training materials, user manuals, presentations, and reports for software applications
  • Provide technical assistance and user support for software applications
  • Participate in the relevant meetings, workshops, and technical sessions
  • Provide written and verbal project status to NexGen management
  • Coordinate with users and technical staff in developing recommendations for software modifications and enhancements
  • Develop or update software user manuals, technical handbooks, and/or bulletins based on approved engineering changes
  • Act as a communication link between the Client stakeholders and the NexGen staff to ensure effective service delivery
  • Other duties may be assigned
