Google Sheets Developer - Freelance at Parakeeto

We are looking for a spreadsheet builder/hacker to expand our capabilities at Parakeeto. While we are not a spreadsheet only shop.

Required Experience:

You should have a working capability in designing spreadsheets, and know how to build sheets that are not only accurate, but provide high quality user experiences as well. For example, you should be able to create a VLOOKUP table that could link 2 datasets in different sheets to only show a specific set of columns from each. We can support you in developing your skills with some of the more advanced Google Sheets feature, though you should bring your own attention to detail (providing accurate numbers for our clients is a must!). Our small distributed team serves agencies from all over the world, primarily in North America, looking for help getting better insights into their operations and profitability.

The Role:

We are looking for a spreadsheet builder/hacker to expand our capabilities at Parakeeto. While we are not a spreadsheet only shop, we believe deeply in the power of spreadsheets (VisiCalc was the PC's “killer app” after all) to enable rapid number crunching and modeling. We're constantly pushing the limits of Google Sheets, using it's most advanced features (ARRAYFORMULA, QUERY, SUMPRODUCT, SUMIFS, IMPORTRANGE, Pivot Tables,etc.) to build powerful business intelligence tools and systems based in Google Sheets.

What You'll Learn:

If you have a similar believe in the amazing power of spread sheets, and want to push your own skills and limits and see what they are truly capable of when pushed, we'd love to talk to you. You'll also develop a deep understanding of business modelling and the “Parakeeto Way” (Parakeeto's framework for modelling the Agency business model) working directly with our CTO, Ben Zittlau. Ben has over a decade's experience building systems and teams for high-growth startups, and brings his deep understanding of building maintainable, scalable, high performance software systems to our Google Sheets based tools and systems.

What You'll Do:

Working with our CTO and delivery team, you'll help us maintain and extend our Google Sheets tooling for agency business intelligence. These tools utilize advanced Google Sheets functionality to perform sophisticated data extraction, correction, processing, and presentation.

In addition you'll be responsible for helping us develop effective workflows in Google Sheets for managing updates to Google Sheets, applying updates across multiple parallel implementations, and implementing industry Best Practices for change management on this platform.

Over time there will be opportunity to extend into App Scripts, Google Apps add-ons, and API's, supported by our world class technical lead, as we continue to push the limits.

Location & Hours:

This job is location-independent and can be done from anywhere in the world. The only requirement is that applicants should be able to arrange their work schedule to overlap for 4-5 hours per day with Atlantic Standard Time Business hours (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Atlantic, Monday to Friday). We are initially looking for someone with availability for 20 hours a week, with the potential opportunity to transition into a full time role if initial engagements prove successful.
