Description

At Adyton we believe that there is right and wrong in the world. We believe that evil triumphs when good people stand by and do nothing. We also believe in the power of people to build for a better, safer world, and that if we can, we must. Put simply, we build mobile products that empower heroes.

Adyton is a veteran-owned, venture-backed American technology company that builds mobile products for the people who serve. We were founded by Special Operations Veterans James Boyd and JJ Wilson, who experienced first hand the frustration, isolation, and uncertainty of a life of service while defending democracy and the values we hold dear. Together, our team holds a combined 100+ years of military service spanning Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, the Philippines, Thailand, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Our mobile product Mustr connects troops with leaders, helps field personnel get their jobs done more efficiently and safely, and creates trusted real-time data for the enterprise - whether for national security organizations that protect us, or for heavy industries that power our economies.

Our users rescue people from the ocean, they fight wildfires, and they deliver humanitarian assistance to where it is needed - whether it’s responding to tornadoes in Arkansas or hostile actors in foreign lands.

Our investors are Garry Tan at Initialized Capital and Kanyi Maqubela at Kindred Ventures.

We share a team-first culture, which empowers us to choose the right path, not the easy path; overcome challenges bigger than any one person; and grow more together than we could as individuals. We are united as owners in our successes, our failures, and the commitments we make.

  • Teamwork is more important than background;
  • Potential is more important than knowledge;
  • Integrity is more important than output;
  • Drive is more important than skill;
  • Consistency is more important than brilliance.

We’re looking for an experienced full stack developer to join our team to help build features and design architecture across our mobile platform and applications: implementing new user facing features in mobile client applications, designing and building new back end features and services ranging from monoliths to micro services, and iterating tightly in a cross functional team with user research, customer success and other engineering disciplines.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Work closely in a tight knit team spanning user research, customer success, infrastructure, front end, and back end to plan, build and ship features in a highly iterative environment
  • Build features and troubleshoot bugs across back end monolithic architectures, micro services, API interfaces, client architectures and user interfaces
  • Make recommendations and implement refactors of code, and the introduction of new patterns to help improve the user and dev experience
  • Collaborate with design, front end, and back end developers to integrate performance and architecture considerations into new feature design
  • Contribute recommendations to the product road map to simplify engineering design, add leverage to developers, and increase scalability and maintainability

THE BENEFITS

  • Competitive compensation packages consisting of cash + equity
  • Full medical, dental & vision (or depending on location, compensation to cover full prepaid medical and dental insurance)
  • 30 PTO days, separate from team-wide holidays
  • 90 days paid Parental Leave that can be used on a continuous or intermittent basis. Team members are eligible for leave from their first day at Adyton.
  • Flexible work schedules
  • Professional development reimbursements
  • Internal Lunch & Learns, Developer mentorships, and other learning and growth opportunities
  • Fully remote team with options for ad-hoc travel to colocate and collaborate with coworkers. In addition, we are in the planning stages to open our first hub locations to support in-person collaboration!
  • Yearly team-wide off site gatherings

As a team-first organization, we understand that our teammates come from diverse backgrounds and have unique life circumstances. We continually strive to provide a suite of benefits that best supports our team members and the greater Adyton family.

THE LOGISTICS

Location

At present all roles are remote, and we will always support remote team members. We continuously evaluate how to best support our team members, their health and their productivity as we adapt to new work practices. We routinely gather for sprints, team retreats and at customer sites, and are actively planning to add co-working and hybrid work location hubs.

Travel

As a hybrid friendly team we are focused on helping our teammates be happy, healthy and productive. We recognize that everyone has different circumstances that vary over time and adapt travel expectations accordingly.

We conduct week long meetups at least twice per year in the United States and internationally. We support periodic travel (4-5 days per quarter) to collocate and collaborate tightly with coworkers on an ad-hoc basis as you and your team see fit. BD and customer facing roles can typically expect up to 25% travel, with occasional periods over 25% during heavy contract season.

WHO WE ARE

Everyone at Adyton strives to embody our core values of: Team-first, Service above Self, Drive for Impact, Egoless High Performance, Resilience, Extreme Ownership, and Continuous Growth. These are North Star attributes that we hold ourselves accountable to at all levels of the organization, and they form the basis of how we operate, how we hire, how we empower the team, and how we seek to achieve our mission.

ADYTON'S COMMITMENT TO A DIVERSE, MULTI-CULTURAL TEAM

We are a global, multi-cultural team driven by a shared mission to improve lives. We value a variety of lived experiences and professional backgrounds. We are a diverse team that operates with respect for everyone and a sense of urgency to solve real problems for real people. We do not tolerate arrogance or disrespect and are committed to ensuring that everyone feels supported, valued, heard, and invited into shaping our culture and core strategies.

If you don't meet all of the criteria, but think you have what it takes to build something bigger than yourself, please apply! Nobody checks every box. We're looking for adaptable, resilient and driven people who want to be part of a team-first culture and build products with purpose.

Work on problems that matter. Write code that matters. Build a team that matters.

Whatever you do, make a choice. Choose to stand by, or step up.
