Front-end Software Developer at MD Ally Technologies, Inc.

We need one to Work with Product and UX design to understand and create solutions for diverse user requirements (e.g., accessibility, internationalization), user hardware constraints, and front-end security risks.

QUALIFICATIONS

• React: 5 years of professional frontend software development experience
• Professional experience building dynamic, interactive, cross-browser frontend applications in React and Typescript
• Frontend application architecture, including consuming backend APIs utilizing REST & Web Sockets
• An understanding of common programming paradigms and fundamental React principles, such as React components, hooks, and the React lifecycle
• Familiarity with common programming tools such as IDEs, RESTful APIs, Git repositories, version control software, Jira
• Experience with modern web technologies and techniques such as HTML5, CSS3, CSS frameworks and CSS pre-processors.
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Redux, Ractive, Ember, or Angular, along with the knowledge of when to use them
• Experience with responsive and mobile design, as well as cross-browser development and testing
• Experience building rich data-driven web applications by consuming RESTful services and APIs.
• Track record delivering large customer features and front-end solutions in complex or ambiguous problem areas.
• Understands at a high level how front-end code and experiences are delivered to users (e.g., HTTPS, DNS, CDNs, app stores).
• Knowledge of tracking and analytics pixel implementation (Criteo, Rakuten, Adobe, GoogleAnalytics)
• Understands front-end software best practices including client-side performance optimization and how to mitigate information security risks.
• Thinks in terms of architecture as well as code. Able to evaluate end-to-end designs for strengths and weaknesses (e.g., complexity, quality, scalability, latency, security, performance, data integrity, etc.)
• Understands software engineering best practices (e.g. automated pipelines, Operational Excellence, Information Security) and sets front-end software and UX implementation standards
• Able to deal with ambiguity. Strive for clarity in requirements and problem space to mitigate UI risks upfront .
• Make the appropriate trade-offs to balance innovative UX with implementation complexity.
• Evaluate the risks and benefits of using front-end libraries, frameworks, and tool-sets for a given problem space.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Our Front-end Software Developers are an integral part of our highly-collaborative engineering team. They will be working to design and implement new features, improve our architecture, and take the lead to launch new products supporting emergency medical clinicians operating within the lifesaving 911 public safety space.

You will be at the forefront of advancing MD Ally's 911-integrated technical products. As an engaged member of the engineering team, you will take ownership of mission-critical projects and influence development processes, while working on challenging & meaningful projects that directly save lives in the communities we serve.

It will be your responsibility to ensure quality test coverage, review peer code and provide recommendations, and keep up to speed on the latest front-end trends. You’ll take part in all aspects of the software development life cycle, including front-end architectural initiatives, UI/UX design, and prototyping reviews, and you’ll implement and take ownership over several UI components in our microservice architecture.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build awesome web experiences for a global audience using React.js
• Work with Product and UX design to understand and create solutions for diverse user requirements (e.g., accessibility, internationalization), user hardware constraints, and front-end security risks.
• Build in flexibility and customization from the start
• Plan and accommodate all mediums, screen sizes and device types
• Be nimble and react quickly to changing business conditions
• Internalize the user and promote good usability and accessibility in every experience
• Work with a cross-functional team of Software Engineers, Product Managers, UX Designers, QA Engineers and DevOps Engineers to own your solution from development to production
• Instrument software with real user metrics (e.g., taps/clicks, feature interaction, performance, fatals) to provide data and protect the customer experience.
• Use knowledge of the UX space to improve design and engineering processes and to build, create, and deliver the right experience for customers.
• Drive the highest standards and solve the most challenging problems. Work hand in hand with engineers across both development teams providing senior technical leadership in all facets of front-end software development.
