Description

At Kensho, we hire talented people and give them the autonomy, support, and resources needed to build cutting-edge technology and products. We produce a suite of AI-powered solutions that solves the challenges of the largest, most successful businesses and institutions, helping them make sense of a world full of messy data.

Kensho’s Applications group develops the software that delivers Kensho’s AI capabilities to our customers. Our teams are small, product-focused, and intent on shipping high-quality code that best leverages our efforts. We’re collegial, humble, and inquisitive, and we delight in learning from teammates with backgrounds, skills, and interests different from our own.

As a Front-End Platform Engineer in the Applications group, you'll develop software, systems, and processes that accelerate the company's ability to build high-quality, performant web applications. You'll work closely with a small team of platform engineers, learning needs and pain points that are shared across Applications' product teams and building reusable solutions in the form of libraries, architecture recommendations, tooling, deployment systems, etc., that allow product teams to iterate more quickly and effectively. You'll collaborate with colleagues from Design, Product, and Infrastructure, and you'll work to share general front-end knowledge across our engineering organization.

At Kensho, we believe in flexibility-first, and give our employees the opportunity to work from where they feel most productive and engaged (must be in the United States). We also value in-person collaboration, so there may be times when travel to one of our Kensho hubs (NY/DC/MA) will be required for team meetings or company events.

What You'll Do:

  • Build software to improve product iteration speed, such as internal libraries, DX tools, deployment systems, etc.
  • Meet with stakeholders across web product teams to understand current and future pain points, and collaborate to design immediate and long-term solutions.
  • Develop recommendations for product architecture design, language practices, library choices, etc., and share them across the engineering organization.
  • Over time, promote high-quality engineering practices across the organization through tech talks, code review, mentorship, etc.
