Front End Engineer at EAB
As a Front-end Engineer at EAB, you will be building the interface for an innovative platform that helps students with university admissions.
Basic Qualifications:
- 2 years of front-end engineering experience
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent years of experience
- Experience with React and usage of class based and functional components
- Passion for making dynamic, performant, enterprise web applications
- Understanding of SDLC and the technical and business challenges that come with development of a product
- Development experience with git-base version control
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and quickly learn new technologies
- Thorough, methodical, problem solver and creative with extreme attention to detail
- Knowledge of and ability to discuss HTML5, CSS, JavaScript solutions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. This role must easily be able to have clear communication over email, IM, phone, and in person.
Excellent interpersonal skills
- Expert at time management as well as working & finding answers to questions independently
Ideal Qualifications:
- Experience with Redux or any other state management library.
- Experience with unit testing in UI frameworks
- Experience with software design patterns and application architecture
- Experience with a broad range of modern Web API’s
- Experience developing with accessibility standards in mind
- Experience with object-oriented, functional, logic, and imperative programming
- Experience with agile development

The Role in Brief:
Front End Engineer
As a Front-end Engineer at EAB, you will be building the interface for an innovative platform that helps students with university admissions. We are a fast growing team tackling the trickiest problems in higher education. The Front-end Engineer will be a part of the development team and will be an integral part of the full product life cycle of the platform. The Front-end Engineer will help lead the team working to develop the next generation of technology for the higher education industry.
Open to remote based in the US or in one of our EAB locations; Washington, DC., Richmond, VA., or Birmingham, AL.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work with product managers, development managers and stakeholders to elaborate on business requirements and implement solutions including code development and testing
- Collaborate with product, design, and software engineering to achieve common goals
- Follow common sustainable web application design, management, and development methodologies
- Develop components and modules for the interface of the platform with Javascript and React
- Ensure high quality solutions by implementing unit, integration, and acceptance tests where appropriate
- Developing accessible solutions across the platform
