Experience with many of the following skills and technologies:

  • Command of Java and UI Development: HTML, JSP/JSTL, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Angular, Ajax, Spring/Spring Boot, Hibernate
  • Demandware/Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Tealium, eCommerce/B2C concepts strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of building and consuming REST services
  • Experience with testing automation: Selenium/JUnit/Behave a plus
  • Experience with development tools: git, Jenkins, CI/CD, Chef, Maven, Sonar, Artifactory, Eclipse
  • Database development and management: SQL/MySQL
  • Experience with application servers: Tomcat/JBoss

Job Specifications

Typically has the following skills or abilities:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience

4+ years of application development experience

Experience designing, programming, and implementing large information systems

Strong analytical, problem solving and written and verbal communication skills

Experience in Agile Development/Scrum Methodology

Exercises discretion and independent judgment in the performance of his/her job duties


Description

An eCommerce Engineer is a skilled full-stack Java developer with an emphasis on developing B2C applications on the Salesforce Commerce Cloud platform. With minimal supervision, design, develop, enhance, maintain, test, and deploy eCommerce solutions to meet VSP Retail’s business needs. The eCommerce Engineer is self-directed and participates in VSP’s agile development process.

Implement Java-based business services as well as Commerce Cloud storefront components

Work with Product Owners and Business Analysts to understand business and technical requirements to deliver elegant solutions that meet or exceed expectations

  • Design and manage the execution of test plans and test automation to ensure repeatable quality
  • Provide production support, troubleshooting, business support, and implementation of bug fixes
  • Maintain documentation to support management and maintenance of applications and environments

Compensation range for the role is listed below. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
