Digital Design Director at Solvers

We need you to have

• A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience designing advanced apps and solutions for real customers

• A minimum of 3 years of leading other designers in a team

• Understanding general design principles, equivalent to a Graphic Design bachelor or similar

• Love and passion for great experiences on screen and in life

• Love and passion for graphic design and typography

• Deep understanding of human psychology and behaviour

• Excellent communication skills

• Excellent writing skills

• Leadership, organisation, and analytical skills

• Hunger for complex problems

Solvers is a small creative team designing big experiences for the companies such as Airbnb, British Airways and Mastercard. Corporates and well-funded startups trust us with their most significant product design and brand challenges.

We’re looking for a professional design leader capable of running complex and rapid product design programmes and client engagements. We’re looking to maintain the highest standards in each delivery aspect, from the initial client workshops to the final handover. As a Digital Design Director at Solvers, you’ll be responsible for the team of designers and their performance across the board. You’ll work closely with creative managers to adhere to tight schedules and deadlines. We expect a design director to have strong communication, leadership and analytical skills.

As Digital Design Director, you will

• Take responsibility for the design team’s performance and success

• Manage, support and inspire the team of several senior designers

• Provide equally strong feedback to the team in both visual and UX aspects of the experience

• Build design programme strategy and plans

• Handle client relations of all calibres

• Be ready to conceptualise the solution and set the design direction for the team

• Collaborate with creative managers to build precise project plans and estimates

• Help grow the Design team by finding, reviewing and hiring the best talent

• Pitch ideas and the creative vision to the client

• Tightly collaborate with the clients to discuss feedback. Defend or agree to improve the solution as needed

• Analyse market research to create more effective designs

• Help team build and manage UX research programmes

• Be a strong lead and mentor to designers, helping them set up career plans

• Focus on mentoring and empowering the team to be independently successful and to make solid decisions without your involvement
