DevOps/SRE Engineer at BrightSign

We need one to Build software and systems to manage our cloud infrastructure and applications

Required Skills and Qualifications

• BS Degree in CS or related engineering field, or equivalent experience
• Ability to program (structured and OO) with one or more high level languages, such as Python, Java, C/C++, Ruby, and JavaScript. We are not a java shop, so if that’s your only language this is not the role for you
• Experience with distributed storage technologies like NFS, HDFS, Ceph, S3 as well as dynamic resource management frameworks
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD, and automated deployment
• Experience deploying and operating Kubernetes
• A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks
• Experience with advanced monitoring systems such as Prometheus
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code systems such as terraform
• Significant experience with cloud systems, preferably AWS
• 3+ years experience professionally writing code

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years experience professionally writing code
• AWS Certification (Developer, SysOps, SA)

BrightSign, the global market leader in digital signage media players, is seeking an experienced DevOps or site reliability engineer (SRE) to join our rapidly growing team. We are adding substantial cloud-based systems to support authoring for, configuring, deploying and operating our players. We need excellent software engineers who want to write software to solve operational problems. This position can remote or be located in either of our development centers (Cambridge, UK, or Silicon Valley, CA).

Objectives

• Build software and systems to manage our cloud infrastructure and applications
• Monitor availability in production, building that capability out as needed
• Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions
• Provide operational support for a large cloud-based distributed system

Required Skills and Qualifications
