Homesteaders Life, a West Des Moines based life insurance company, is seeking a DevOps Engineer to help drive a culture shift through the enablement of adoption of DevOps best practices.

What you’ll do:

• Facilitate the growth and adoption of DevOps culture through the development and evangelization of toolchains
• Automate application CI/CD by aiding in the design, implementation, and administration of release pipelines
• Automate the provisioning and configuration of infrastructure and systems by designing, implementing, and maintaining Infrastructure as Code and scripted automation
• Participate in an Agile team and contribute to ceremonies such as prioritization, refinement, and planning, and be a directly embedded contributor with skillsets and knowledge to enhance the typical application development process and delivery
• Learn any skills necessary for success in the above development efforts and stay informed about newly released or emerging technologies
• Serve as a subject matter expert on technologies used for any of the above development efforts
• Experience with Azure DevOps (Repos and Pipelines) or another comparable CI/CD platform
• Experience with Configuration Management & Automation, especially Salt
• Experience with Infrastructure Automation, especially with Terraform, AzureRM Templates, and vCenter Templates
• Experience with Coding and or Scripting, especially with C#, PowerShell, Bash, or Python
• Experience with Logging, Monitoring, and Alerting, especially with Splunk and Azure Monitor
• A perspective informed by experience with Software Development, especially the value of automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous delivery
• A systems-thinking approach to problem-solving
