DevOps Engineer at American AgCredit

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to help us build functional systems that improve customer experience.

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• 1-3 years of work experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering role
• Good knowledge of Azure, Power Shell, and C#
• Working knowledge of infrastructure as code tools
• Problem-solving attitude
• B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant experience
• Understanding of software development life cycle including software processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Coordination and communication within the team and with customers
• Managing periodic reporting on the progress to the management and the customer

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Must have the ability to perform basic office tasks and work in a typical office setting. Employee will be sitting for extended periods of time and accomplishing work at a desk and work at a computer for an extended period. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to adequately convey ideas and work well with a team. Ability to talk and hear, sit, and use their hands and fingers, and reach in all directions is essential in performance of the job. Some lifting and moving of items up to 25 pounds required. Work during established business hours and may require occasional weekend and/or evening work. Travel required.

BASIC FUNCTION:

• We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to help us build functional systems that improve customer experience. DevOps Engineer responsibilities include deploying product updates, identifying production issues, and implementing integrations that meet customer needs.
• This role focuses on building and maintaining the infrastructure used to automate the release, deployment, and upgrade processes for workloads. This individual will work on developing the automated pipelines for cloud environments as well as providing consulting services to application and infrastructure teams specific to automated build, test, and release automation.
• This role will be responsible for the operations and operating environment for the DevOps platforms and will drive troubleshooting efforts around incidents and outages.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Analyze technology used within the association and develop means and processes to improve and expand upon them
• Establish milestones for necessary contributions from departments and develop processes to facilitate team collaboration
• Assist other software developers and systems admins in creating practical demonstrations of proposed solutions and demonstrating them to other members of the team
• Mentor and train other engineers throughout the company and seek to continually improve processes companywide
• Work alongside business delivery teams to successfully monitor progress and implementation of initiatives
• Building and configuring development tools, platforms, and infrastructure
• Improving and automating development and release processes
• Leveraging Microsoft Azure capabilities, including scaling applications to meet customer demand
• Testing and examining code across teams and analyzing results
• Hardening code, platforms, and infrastructure against cybersecurity threats
• Partnering with software developers and data center operators to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
• Planning out work and being involved in work management decisions.
• Monitoring and measuring customer experience and KPIs

LEVELS OF SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED:

Makes some independent decisions and reports to the Software Development Lead.

FULL-TIME REMOTE:

These roles and job functions can be done remotely, while maintaining our strong commitment to customer service and our business goals. Employees are welcome to come to an office to work if needed, and some travel for team meetings will be required.

PAY RANGE:

Minimum - $84,511.50 Max - $140,852.50

This range is reflective of the national salary average for this position and will be adjusted using geographic variance for physical location of the hired candidate. American AgCredit may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.
