The DevOps Engineer is part of the Technology Department and plays a leading role in system design, implementation, administration, and deployment.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 1+ years’ experience with CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, CodeDeply, Cloud Build, ETC for cloud, mobile, and endpoint services.
  • 2+ years’ administrative experience with Azure cloud infrastructure.
  • 1+ year’s administrative experience with GCP infrastructure.
  • Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure a plus, but not required.
  • 2+ years’ experience performing Windows systems design, implementation, and administration.
  • 2+ year experience performing Linux systems design, implementation, and administration.
  • Android systems design, implementation, and administration preferred but not required.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment; Scrum, Kanban, SAFe frameworks.
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure; securely configure firewalls, switches and WAPs.
  • Experience with computer hardware and peripherals; barcode scanners, pole displays, touch screens, receipt printers and credit card readers a plus.
  • Knowledge of IDS/IPS, endpoint monitoring, anti-virus/anti-malware, and other monitoring and logging tools.
  • Exposure with Jira or Azure DevOps for work tracking.
  • Experience with data log tools like Instana and SumoLogic.
  • Knowledge of various encryption technologies and methods.
  • Point of sale experience a plus.
  • Ability to design and build complex system and data maps.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, diplomatic, communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
  • Experience influencing and gaining buy-in from executive sponsors, team members, stakeholders, and peers.

The DevOps Engineer is part of the Technology Department and plays a leading role in system design, implementation, administration, and deployment. This individual applies their communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize customer uptime, while increasing the organization’s ability to deliver applications and services at rapid pace. The successful candidate will be an effective consultant, and have strong knowledge of systems development and maintenance, security, and release management frameworks. The engineer will participate in creating, monitoring, and maintaining 365’s product infrastructure, both servers and endpoints, in a large, networked environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for our cloud, mobile, and endpoint services.
  • Develop monitoring/observability functionality into each release.
  • Managing releases between our pre-production and production environments, while monitoring for issues.
  • Develop secure OS templates for both virtual servers and endpoints.
  • Clutch with development teams to ensure 365 products work seamlessly with server and endpoint environments.
  • Develop, document, and maintain necessary DevOps knowledge base.
  • Monitor 365 endpoint and server logs for predictive system failures and suspicious activity.
  • Clutch with development, IT, and database teams to ensure 365 products have backups in place for all servers and datacenters.
  • Work with DevOps teams to identify single points of failure and establish remediation plans.
  • Work with development teams to ensure 365 products meet customer SLA agreements for service outages.
  • Design disaster recovery infrastructure that can be validated and tested.
  • Document and maintain ownership of DR/BC plans with clearly defined RTO/RPO.
  • Lead desktop and live DR drills, confirming documented RTO/RPO.
  • Research and evaluate new software and hardware solutions to maximize system update and recovery objectives.
  • Monitor 365 endpoint and server logs for proactive business continuity.
  • Create secure operating system images for 365’s POS endpoints, primarily in a Linux environment.
  • Research, evaluate, and integrate new hardware solutions - CPUs and peripherals.
  • Support 365’s patching program of both endpoints and servers; identify, evaluate, test, and deploy patches while maintaining system uptime.
  • Work closely with 365 Security Team to make certain new and existing systems adhere to industry security standards.
  • Participate in incident response activities.
  • Aid in forensic analysis and triage of system logs.
  • Participate in systems audits following industry standards like PCI-DSS, SOC2, ISO27001, NIST CSF, ECT.
  • Participate in afterhours Pager Duty incident response rotation.
  • Stay abreast of changes to the information technology landscape; proactively discuss and provide recommendations to 365 Technology Leadership to facilitate necessary internal changes.
