Business Application Support Specialist will be responsible for maintaining legacy and other custom applications according to organization specifications, including documentation of, and training staff on, changes to existing processes.


Qualification & Technical skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science.
  • 4 plus years of overall experience in IT.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in IT technical support.
  • Strong SQL Server skills (stored procedures, T-SQL)
  • Proven experience in technical support or application support roles, specifically with SharePoint.
  • Strong knowledge of SharePoint platform, including SharePoint Online (Office
  • 365) and/or SharePoint Server, with expertise in SharePoint administration and configuration.
  • Proficient in SharePoint development technologies, such as SharePoint Designer, PowerShell, and SharePoint Framework (SPFx).
  • Familiarity with SharePoint migration processes and tools.
  • Experience with SharePoint integrations, including connecting SharePoint with other systems and applications.
  • Strong knowledge of C# programming language and MVC framework.
  • Must be familiar with principles and best practices in developing and maintaining responsive, secure, and accessible applications.
  • Skilled creative and technical problem-solver, able to isolate and resolve issues in real-time.
  • Ability to think algorithmically.
  • Good understanding on Scrum Methodology
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to train and share knowledge. Strong dependence on documentation.
  • Committed to working after hours and weekends as required to support Production issues.
  • Understands the importance of building relationships with business users and demonstrates professionalism in communications.
  • Consistently places team goals ahead of personal goals.

SUMMARY

Business Application Support Specialist will be responsible for maintaining legacy and other custom applications according to organization specifications, including documentation of, and training staff on, changes to existing processes.

Business Application Support Specialist will be expected to configure user browser settings, verifying data with basic SQL queries, understand and contribute to functional specifications and other technical documentation, and provide end-user support and training.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitoring and timely completion of support tickets for all legacy/production applications.
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy .Net and SharePoint applications using C# programming language.
  • Write efficient, reusable, and scalable code to ensure optimal performance and maintainability of applications.
  • Create and update user guides, manuals, and training materials, to facilitate the effective use of the platform and its features.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and design solutions.
  • Creation of custom views, exportation of custom reports, research system messages and troubleshoot custom workflows in all versions of SharePoint, specifically a highly customized version of SharePoint 2010.
  • Experience in the analysis, design, and support of web-based applications.
  • Troubleshooting general software issues, like connectivity, security, versioning, etc.
  • Testing code prior to deployment - specifically SQL and C#.
  • Monitor/manage scheduled SQL jobs and manually intervene when appropriate.
  • Where appropriate, configure user machines to comply with the requirements of specific application(s).

Travel Required

This position will require occasional travel of up to 10%.

Internal: Members of the Global IT Department, ChildFund Senior Managers, Directors and Executives, and owners and users of ChildFund business systems.
