Experience required:

• 4+ years of experience designing and developing object-oriented applications in a Java environment.
• 4+ years hands on experience in Oracle/ DB2/SQL Server
• 3+ years hands on experience in technical design document preparation.
• 2+ years knowledge of the following technology: Spring Batch, Spring MVC, Spring JDBC, Spring Security, XML/XSL.
• 2+ years experience in unit testing using JUnit or other similar frameworks.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Designs, develops and modifies software products and/or customer applications using object-oriented web development utilizing Java, jQuery, HTML5, XML/XSL, MVC, SVN, Web Services, Oracle/DB2/SQL Server, Unit testing, and SOA patterns.
• Participates in design discussions and contribute to decision making
• Will work on multiple projects providing development and maintenance work.
• Have knowledge of how to document program design, coding, and maintenance.
• Have experience getting critical project to completion with high client satisfaction.
• Applies existing guidelines and procedures to make varied decisions within a department.
• Uses independent judgment to identify problems and recommend solutions.
• Adheres to defined coding standards and other defined quality standards
• Client interaction, interpersonal communication, written communication, decision making ability, client focus.

Hands-on experience with the following servers:

• JBoss Application Server and WebSphere Application Server.
• IDE: JBoss Developer Studio / IBM Rad / eclipse
• Experience in fine tuning and identifying the potential bottle necks on the applications.
• Experience in full software development lifecycle
• Self-motivated with strong initiative and excellent Communication Skills.

Nice to have:

• Domain experience in the Insurance Industry desired.
• Certification in java 8 or above is an add-on.
• Experience working with enterprise application architecture frameworks
• Experience working in Agile is preferred
• Experience in using AWS is a plus.
