Data Analyst at Florida Blue

We need one to Design and develop ETL using Toad and SQL Server stored procedures or other tools, functions, and views.

What You Must Have

• 3+ years related work experience or 1.5 years’ experience in an Associate Data Engineer role or experience in Data Analytics
• Bachelor’s degree or additional related equivalent work experience
• Relevant Development Certifications Proficiency writing SQL queries using Toad or SQL Server applications within db2 or similar environments
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite to include Excel, Access, and PowerPoint Experience and understanding with unit testing, release procedures, coding design and documentation protocol as well as change management procedures
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; strong attention to detail
• Strong Business Acumen Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills, flexible team player Florida Blue or general health insurance experience
• Experience with Tableau version 10.5 or higher
• Experience as a SharePoint Site steward Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; strong teamwork and collaboration skills
• Ability to manage tasks independently, take ownership of responsibilities, and consistently meet established deadlines Ability to communicate results and insights, both verbally and written (including visual graphics) and in a clear and concise manner to a non-technical audience.
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to evaluate alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with business objectives and strategy

What Will Be Your Purpose

The Data Engineer & Analyst works across IT and business functions to create and maintain custom reports and/or data files from multiple databases and tables to help drive business decisions with business owners through comprehensive analyses. This role oversees the creation and daily running of mission critical departmental reporting for departmental metric results as well as design and develop Toad and SQL Server stored procedures, functions, and views. This role will provide presentations, document analyses, ensure understanding of the analysis with key stakeholders, and support the identification of trends, issues, and performance gaps based on analyses as well as making and implementing recommendations to drive improvements.

What Will You Be Doing

• Design and develop ETL using Toad and SQL Server stored procedures or other tools, functions, and views.
• Create and maintain custom reports and/or data files from multiple access databases.
• Provide oversight for the creation and daily running of mission critical departmental reporting for departmental metric results.
• Translate business needs to data elements in data marts to source, extract, and match and modify data to enable reporting efforts.
• Create and maintain custom dashboards and/or data sources in Tableau and other reporting tools; Extract and aggregate data as needed for reporting.
• Develop reports and presentations documenting analyses and ensure that key stakeholders understand the business implications for those analyses.
• Identify, investigate, and document possible root causes of trends, issues, and performance gaps based on analyses and campaign results to determine improvements and recommendations.
• Perform exploratory data analysis, data cleansing, and data visualization using data mining tools.

What We Prefer

• Experience designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining a database and programs to manage data analysis efforts.
• Have a strong ability to independently and proactively initiate projects, hypothesize data & business transaction flows and offer technical solutions.
• Proficient in the use of Teradata SQL, SAS, Data Visualization (e.g., Tableau, Cognos, Web focus or other), MS Access, MS Excel, Visual Basic, and or .NET
• Working knowledge of 'Big Data' concepts and Hadoop/Hive, No SQL dbs, Python and/or R tools preferred.
• Familiarity with machine learning engineering and ML ops standards
