Qualifications + Expectations

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in graphic design, visual arts, or related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in web design, with a focus on branding and client solutions.

  • Expert knowledge of design software such as Figma, Sketch, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).

  • Understanding of HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.

  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • A portfolio of work that showcases strong visual design skills and the ability to create engaging user experiences.

  • Endurance and eagerness to please - we have clients who love to see multiple ideas so we need someone who willing to iterate multiple times without losing heart or momentum

  • Occasional support will be needed for PowerPoint, so will need someone who is interested in working in this tool as well.

  • Prefer someone who takes calls for East Coast time zone


Overview

We're on the lookout for a talented and driven web designer to join our team as a part-time contractor. As a Creative Web Designer/Director, you'll work with our clients to establish their branding and create innovative solutions that resonate with their audience.

We're not looking for just any web designer. We want someone who is passionate about branding, design, and creating exceptional user experiences. We need someone who can collaborate with our clients to understand their needs and objectives, and who can develop creative strategies that align with their brand and message and think holistically about all the digital touch points.

Your role will involve designing visually engaging websites, user interfaces, and graphics that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also user-friendly. You'll be responsible for creating and maintaining brand guidelines and design standards for all digital assets, including websites, social media, and email marketing. Clients are typically in the life science sector, so the candidate needs to have the ability and patience to make complex topics simple.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with our team and clients to understand their business goals and establish their brand identity.

  • Develop creative design concepts and strategies that align with the client's brand and objectives.

  • Design and develop website layouts, user interfaces, and graphics that are visually engaging and user-friendly.

  • Create and maintain brand guidelines and design standards for all digital assets, including website, social media, and email marketing.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that design solutions meet business and user requirements, and are technically feasible.

  • Test and optimize website designs for usability, performance, and accessibility.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality designs within deadlines.

  • Continuously research and stay up-to-date on industry trends, user experience best practices, and emerging technologies.
