As Copywriter, you’ll be part of a creative and collaborative environment that works together to support the marketing efforts of NRG’s East Retail Marketing team.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of utility and/or energy industry preferred
  • Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Skilled at both short and long form marketing copywriting
  • Ability to take direction and efficiently write content that requires few revisions to first drafts
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized and deadline-driven
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to switch between different projects with ease
  • Comfortable gathering information quickly and efficiently from the proper people and channels
  • Self-starter with strong time management skills
  • Expert knowledge of Word
  • Experience with project management tools, like Workfront, preferred

Job Summary:

As Copywriter, you’ll be part of a creative and collaborative environment that works together to support the marketing efforts of NRG’s East Retail Marketing team. The Copywriter will write and edit copy for a variety of projects (including print, web, email, and more) aligning with the company’s overall strategy. In addition to exceptional writing skills and attention to detail, our ideal candidate can work well with a team in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Write clear, concise and grammatically correct marketing copy for print, digital, email campaigns, web pages, and more
  • Continually raise the bar on creativity, writing fresh copy that resonates with the desired audience and drives action
  • Collaborate with designers and various teams from concept development to delivery of final product
  • Ensure consistency of brand voice throughout all written materials
  • Review designed materials to ensure copy is accurate and message is conveyed in context to the design
  • Maintain alignment of assets and communications to ensure brand consistency
  • Understand the various target markets and adjust content to match
  • Collaborate with peers on product naming, messaging and positioning development for current and new products

Working Conditions:

Remote / Office environment

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years as a marketing copywriter with a supporting portfolio
