What we offer

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Infrastructure Management & Service Desk Management, the role of the Cloud Engineer is to deliver vital support services to the infrastructure operating environment. This position develops detailed plans and accurate estimates for the design, build and implementation and stabilization phases of the cloud infrastructure. This position also leads the installation, upgrades, and integration of current and future cloud native and non-cloud technology stack. The Cloud Engineer is responsible for recommending strategies to drive down cost and improve efficiencies to ensure systems provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals and industry-best practices.

The Cloud Engineer ensures the development, quality assurance, and production environments run smoothly and have the necessary capacity to meet future demand. As a growing enterprise, the security landscape is rapidly evolving and as such, the Cloud Engineer will proactively investigate, develop, and maintain enterprise-wide information security.

What you’ll do

• This is a remote position that will support our MAM team in Canada, must live near 1 of our 9 Division Office locations (NC – Charlotte, Raleigh / AZ – Tucson, Phoenix / TX – Dallas / FL – Jacksonville, Boynton Beach, Tampa, Orlando)
• Must be willing to travel to Canada (quarterly)
• Automate the deployment of applications and services, including deployment of new enterprise applications.
• Maintain live services through monitoring of key performance indicators, including resource utilization and cost metrics, and improve uptime by ensuring seamless updates and automating fault recovery.
• Manage and deploy network resources, identifying bottlenecks and cost tradeoffs in application performance.
• Craft and continuously improve the lifecycle of service deployments within the business, from inception through implementation.
• With a passion for automation, research and recommend best practices and innovative approaches for cloud administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
• Ensure smooth deployments and compliance with security standards, through continuously learning and adapting to new technologies, infrastructure, and frameworks.
• Assist with the engineering of solutions for various project and operational needs, centered around the Azure and AWS Cloud.
• Collaboration and engineering of solutions for software developers, as a key DevOps partner and leader.
• Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the Senior Manager, Infrastructure Management & Service Desk Management, to identify, assess and communicate operational risks
• Assist with the development, updates, and distribution of Controls documentation
• Support with after-hour emergencies when required
