General Role Overview

The Sr. Cloud Engineer will work hands-on to technically resolve network and cloud infrastructure issues as well as formulate innovative yet cost-effective solutions for new requirements. In addition, the role will provide seasoned design and engineering guidance with an emphasis on networking and Azure/AWS cloud architecture.

Nature of Work

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate within your team as well as developers and business units to investigate, prioritize, and resolve network and cloud infrastructure issues. Frequent and clear communicate of status is essential.
  • Assist administration and optimization of a business-critical Linux based on-prem HPC cluster.
  • Work with business users and application teams to identify requirements and identify multiple solution options.
  • Non-intrusively implement best practice configurations for network, cloud, and all other components of the IT infrastructure.
  • Comprehensively document existing and proposed infrastructure at both a technical level and higher level.
  • Practice and enforce sound change management policies and procedures.
  • Closely coordinate with the cybersecurity team on ensuring best practice security configurations that comply with both company and legal/regulatory standards.
  • Design and test solutions for business continuity and disaster recovery.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of networking and Azure/AWS cloud architecture.
  • Excellent organizational skills, change management practices, and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft O365 and infrastructure diagramming tools.
  • Knowledgeable about High Performance Computing (HPC) clusters.
  • Proficient with or able to quickly learn systems and software used by the organization.

Expected Salary Range: $60,900.00 to $169,650.00 a year.

Additional compensation: Salary is one part of total compensation which includes bonuses, equity awards as applicable, and benefits. An employee is eligible to participate in Fisker’s equity program, subject to the rules governing such programs.

Benefits: Fisker provides comprehensive medical, prescription, dental, vision, and disability insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Fisker covers most of the premiums for employees.

The salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location, job-related knowledge, education/training, certifications, key skills, experience, internal peer equity as well as business considerations. Fisker reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position within the salary range listed, taking into account the wide variety of factors listed above.
