North Star Tutors is seeking experienced backend developers to help with a webapp build. This website will be hosted in Firebase with a SQL/NoSQL Database (TBD) and include API development.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- The ideal applicant should be self-driven and work well independently. That said they should also be able to communicate well with both technical and non-technical individuals, and be able to maintain a timeline well, define the expected timeline for new features, and manage their workload and expectations effectively. Knowledge of Python, Angular, Git/Github, SQL/NoSQL, standard webapp architectures, and Firebase are a plus.
Required Experience/Education/Training:
- Candidates should have or be working on a degree in computer science, web development, or a related field. Current students are encouraged to apply. Webapp development experience of some kind is a must (even if it was not for pay). Applicants will be expected to be able to provide examples of webapps they have designed and built, even if they were just for the applicant's portfolio.
- This position is with a startup company. This means that the pay may not be market competitive, but salary negotiations may include stock options as well. Flexibility is important in any applicant, as well as an ability to problem solve and think outside the box. Position Summary:
North Star Tutors is seeking experienced backend developers to help with a webapp build. This website will be hosted in Firebase with a SQL/NoSQL Database (TBD) and include API development. Python experience is preferred. This position will report to the CTO once hired, or to the CEO if hired before a CTO is brought on board.
Duties:
Support and assist the backend development of a website including python development, webapp architecture, API design, backend feature implementation, possibly some database design and development, communicating timelines, status, and updates to management, as well as addressing challenges or issues.
