Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Full stack development experience a plus
  • Basic experience in the design and deployment of Public Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP, or OVH)
  • Expertise in Windows/Linux (Server 2012/2016/RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu)
  • Basic expertise in virtualization technologies (KVM/VMware/Hyper-V)
  • Proficient and self-reliant in at least one modern scripting or programming language such as Python, C, Java, JavaScript, Lua and Go
  • Basic experience with infrastructure automation, such as Ansible, Puppet or Chef
  • Hands-on experience with core operations systems such as AD, LDAP, DNS and NTP
  • Hands-on experience with core internet protocols such as HTTP, SSL, SMTP
  • Hands-on experience with containers and containers management such as Docker, Kubernetes, Mesosphere DC/OS
  • Understanding of services at scale in large networks
  • Familiar with mission-critical databases, particularly PostgreSQL, Influx DB, MySQL and Redis
  • Familiar with Cloud native databases
  • Familiar with Flask (or similar) framework

Forcepoint is looking for an Associate DevOps Engineer to join our Demo Factory team. This individual should be familiar with private & public cloud technologies along with familiarity of core systems engineering skills. The candidate will support Forcepoint’s Private Cloud Demonstration Platform and assist in building new capabilities / integrations into the platform. Additionally, the individual will play a critical role in defining the future of the platform, including methodologies used in scalability, orchestration, disaster recovery, and workload distribution across private/public cloud infrastructure. This associate resource has familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies. The successful candidate is customer focused, a self-starter, able and willing to work with geo-dispersed teams.

Essential Functions

  • Develop, publish, and implement technology lifecycle roadmap for hardware and systems portfolio
  • Publish and implement operational standards for Private Cloud infrastructure and services
  • Support and triage incoming requests through multiple channels
  • Documentation and operationalization of system processes to enhance service delivery outcomes across the organization
  • Responsible for the availability, performance, monitoring, and capacity planning of the Private Cloud infrastructure
  • Create tooling and automation to continuously improve operational reliability of the on-prem and hybrid cloud infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with platform technologies such as, but not limited to, Linux, NGINX, Routing, Reverse Proxy, Docker, KVM, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kapacitor/Telegraf, Nginx, GNS3, Ansible, Grafana, Git
  • REST API design and experience a plus, especially Python and Flask (or similar) frameworks.
