Experience:

Description:
We are looking for a high-reaching and talented software engineer to join the Field Rewards Insurance Compensation engineering team at Northwestern Mutual. You will be building and maintaining critical compensation platforms that deliver value to our field force. The ideal candidate is a quick learner and has a knowledge of Object-Oriented programming in Java and experience working with relational databases.
Milestones
Within the first month, while working with senior engineers on the team, be able to jump head-first into applications in our space learning, asking questions, and doing analysis to identify the general functions and behaviors of the system. Begin chipping in to minor backlog items.
within the first 3 months, have proficient baseline knowledge of the applications and be able to contribute to backlog items. Spec'ing and developing code, contributing directly to the GIT repositories. Be able to dive into the overall application architecture and navigate the environments in which they run.
within the first 6 months, be able to navigate the full stack of applications and supporting components, contributing directly to engineering discussions and development that affect the current and future state of the applications.
