We are currently seeking an Android Software Engineer to join our mobile engineering team in Melbourne.

What we’re looking for

• We are currently seeking an Android Software Engineer to join our mobile engineering team in Melbourne. Whilst our team is Melbourne based we do support fully remote and hybrid work options Australia-wide with team members across most states. We are looking for people who posses and value the following:
• Android development fundamentals - You are a seasoned Android developer who loves to deliver high-quality mobile apps with great UX design. You have a proficient knowledge of modern Kotlin Android development practices with a deep understanding of software development best practices such as writing clean/qualitative code, unit and integration testing and a desire to automate everything. Any exposure to iOS development would be nice to have
• Agile Natives - We are looking for people who have worked in a collaborative agile environment and love this way of working
• Problem solving - You are able to bring people together to understand needs, identify options, form hypotheses, make decisions, and learn faster through collaboration and feedback
• Culture - You care about your work and are passionate about the team and environment you work in. Our practices and processes are continually evolving and we want people who care about helping us grow and enjoy working with passionate, quality focused like minded people

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be working within our engineering department in the mobile team who build the vintrace mobile apps (Android & iOS). You will actively collaborate with product, design and business analysts to deliver market leading apps and actively contribute to our engineering culture promoting high quality practices. Your day to day responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Developing and maintaining the vintrace Android mobile app

Collaborating with the team on best practice software design and architecture with a flair for creative problem-solving

Participating in code reviews & paring to help maintain and grow our standards

Contributing to and/or leading teams during the various agile rituals

Collaborating with the product and design team to understand and solve customer problems

Proudly showcasing products and prototypes to internal staff and customers

Contributing to and growing our automated testing capabilities (unit testing, integration testing, acceptance testing, etc) as well as our Continuous Integration & Delivery practices and tools

Have a say in how we work - we're continually learning and looking for ways to grow

Troubleshooting and resolving software defects for our customers
