Hello, my name is Daniel McLaughlin, and I’m an IT professional with a passion for transitioning into the field of cybersecurity. I have a strong foundation in IT and ethical hacking, supported by a Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security and Homeland Security. Additionally, I hold certifications in Security+ and Certified Ethical Hacking (CEH).
With over two and a half years of experience in IT, I’ve developed skills in systems administration, network security, and hands-on experience with tools such as Kali Linux, Nmap, and Metasploit. I’m currently preparing to take the CompTIA CySA+ certification exam to enhance my understanding of cybersecurity analysis.
As a disabled Army and Marine Corps combat veteran with a Top Secret/SCI clearance, I’ve honed a disciplined approach to problem-solving and working in high-security environments. I am now eager to apply my skills to the cybersecurity field and look forward to opportunities where I can contribute to safeguarding digital systems.
I’m excited to connect with professionals in the cybersecurity industry as I pursue my goal of becoming a cybersecurity analyst and eventually a cyber architect.
